A native of Iran, Michael Ghanivand originally intended to become a medical professional, but when things didn’t go as planned, he ended up building an entirely different career. “I actually have a medical background—I went to medical school at the University of Szeged in Hungary,” he explains. “The Iranian economy wasn’t doing great at the time, so my parents couldn’t send me enough money to continue my education. I have seen a lot of contractors that know what they're doing, but they are not all easy to work with, and Michael was.I think what I liked best about it was that he was flexible and accommodating. I tried not to make changes, but there's always one thing that needs to be changed, and Michael was able to come back without trouble or any added extra expense to fix it. They weren't big things. As first time homeowners, when we discovered what appeared to be a big compromise to our home's porch foundation, we were a little lost as to what would be required to correct the problem and, of course, had no idea what the cost would prove to be. Despite feeling overwhelmed, we knew we needed to search out a General Contractor we could feel secure about working with (especially having heard about the many scary stories of homeowners being taken advantage of). I began searching the internet and located two contractors that had great reviews, but in the end, we just didn't feel at ease with. Then we happened upon Advance Construction. It's reviews were exceptional, but what really made the difference, for me, was the owner's (Michael Ghanivand) back story. I just knew his company was the one we needed to pursue and so did my sister and her husband- but given Advance Construction was a "Diamond Certified" company, our concern was could we even afford it, or would it even have time to take our project on? I called the company and Michael ( the owner ) answered my call right away (which, by the way, he always answers his phone right away - very impressive). He came by, evaluated the situation and shared with us what he believed what would be required to correct the problem. There were about 3 stages needed to correct matters and Michael had special skilled workers for each stage of the project. We were so impressed with the superior skill level and work ethics shown at each stage of this project, while still maintaining the artistic value of our 1924 bungalow (with special thanks to Carmolino, leading the way) all working under the direction of Michael. While watching the progression of our home being worked on, it reminded me of a Proverb found at Proverbs 22 :29, which, in part, states this : "Have you seen a man skillful at his work? He will stand before Kings." This is the biggest compliment we can give Michael and his entire crew. We are not only thankful for working with Advance Construction, but truly thankful to our God, Jehovah, for finding Michael and his team for us!
