My wife and I recently remodeled our kitchen and flooring throughout our home, and we chose MSK to handle the job. This was actually our third time using MSK for our remodeling needs as we had used them twice to remodel our bathrooms previously. We have enjoyed using their services each and every time because they get it! They get design, they get construction, and they REALLY get good customer service at a very high level! When I see this, it tells me that the company is a very well- organization because you see it and feel it consistently everyday by everyone in the company. So, thank you Kat and Scott for owning and managing such a wonderful company. I would be remiss if I didn't mention some all-stars that you have on your team. Notably, Linda Bryant our designer extraordinaire who did the designing phase of all three of our jobs. Chris Nelson our project manager who guided the way and removed many obstacles for us including the removal of asbestos from our home. Chuck Gilbert our lead construction person who showed a lot of versatility in accomplishing everything needed to pull off our job. Then last but not least, there was Sean the painter who did a spectacular job painting all the rooms expertly. My wife and high had high expectations for MSK at the start of the process and they surpassed those expectations once again!

MSK did a bathroom addition in our house in Walnut Creek, and we could not be happier with their work! They are organized and process-oriented all the way through. This was our first major remodel, and we were apprehensive having heard nightmarish stories about remodeling. Happy to say that our experience turned out to be the opposite. The team was always receptive to any questions, feedback or requests we had. They are genuinely nice people, and made sure almost anything we wanted to add was taken care of. We did hit a snag with the medicine cabinet dimensions being incorrect, which caused a slight delay, but we were kept informed all along. Since this was a bathroom addition instead of a remodel, it entailed a few extra steps such as, adding a sewer line, getting permits etc. We would not have known where to start, if we had to co-ordinate all of that ourselves. Thanks to Kat, Scott, Suzy, Chris, Al and team for taking care of everything. We love our new primary suite!

We are a family that loves to cook together. Our existing kitchen, while a large room, was more like a galley and the bottlenecks when we were all cooking together were a nightmare. For over 20 years, we struggled with the flow and workspaces, constantly running into each other. We finally had enough and pulled the plug on a new, much more functional kitchen. We chose MSK as our partner in this endeavor. We were about to do the largest and most expensive renovation we’d ever done, and we wanted it done right… from design to completion. MSK did not disappoint. They are a professionally run company with outstanding staff and ownership. We’d heard nightmares about kitchen renovations going well beyond the due date, with out-of-control costs, so we were cautious and checked MSK’s references. To say the least, the reviews were glowing; on time and on budget. We worked with our designer Kelly, for an entire year honing the design (that year is on me as I couldn’t make up my mind on so many things). Kelly’s insight, patience, and guidance helped me navigate so many choices. We were assigned a project manager, Curt, to keep us on track and a lead carpenter, Jason, to be a daily presence on site. From day 1 of construction, Jason was with us every step of the way. The walls came down and the kitchen torn out starting on July 5th, 2023. We were scheduled to be finished in 12 weeks. MSK came in on budget and delivered our finished kitchen early, at just over 11 weeks. Our kitchen is beautiful but more than that, it is functional. If I had to do it all over again, I would pick MSK.

This was our first experience doing an actual remodel—we’ve spent years doing DIY projects and will continue to do so, but we knew we needed experts to take care of our kitchen remodel. We really can’t believe how lucky we got! Why you should go with MSK Design Build: 1. They do EVERYTHING. 2. Design – The best ever. Our designer, Linda Bryant, listened to what we were looking for – to turn our 1950s galley kitchen into a functional, clean space. She created a wonderful and unexpectedly spacious design without changing the footprint of the kitchen. She gave us homework – how do we use our current space, what’s working, what’s not working—and gave us honest advise on which bell or whistle was something we should spend our money on. We just loved her! 3. Permits – I don’t know what that would have entailed, but I know it saved me time and aggravation. Our neighbors up the street had to fit this into their busy schedule, and they are on month 5 still trying to get their new kitchen done. 4. Vetted reliable contractors – no getting bids and hoping the one we chose showed up to work and completed their jobs--MSK brings long-held reliable relationships with them. MSK wouldn’t work with them if they hadn’t proven themselves. They showed up, did great work, were quiet and respectful. They left our place each afternoon clean with all tools put away. Al Alas, our onsite project manager, made sure of that… We credit Al for getting the work done, and done well. 5. Finished a week early!! - Our flooring folks had a cancellation the week before they were to start doing not just the kitchen, but the whole house! They were able to start a week early at the opposite end of the house while the kitchen cabinets were still getting put in and were done before they initially were supposed to start. It feels like a brand new house, not just a new kitchen. Every time we look at our new kitchen, it makes me smile and feel just happy to be here. I would highly recommend MSK Design Build!!! We had been contemplating a kitchen remodel for years and finally went through with it. We had a very distinct, modern look we were trying to achieve and felt MSK was the team that would be able to do it for us. We had quite a few friends go through a remodel in the past few years and heard all the crazy stories of trying to get multiple contractors, designers, architects, etc. to get on the same page. The beauty of MSK is that they're a design-build firm and take responsibility for everything from design to execution. They even follow up every few months after completion to make sure we're pleased with the outcome. We chose MSK because we felt they were honest, forthcoming people. And we were right! They kept us up to speed on anything that varied from the detailed plan they had set forth from the beginning. They use a platform called Co-Construct that keeps everyone up to date on what's happening and allows for extremely easy communication between client and builder. That was extremely important to us since our hours aren't always conducive to playing phone tag throughout the day. The team at MSK was amazing! Our designer, Suzie, helped us go from everything we had seen in magazines and online to putting together a well thought out design to help match aesthetic to function. The team that came in everyday were fantastic as well. We can't say enough great things about our lead, Joe. He was always very communicative with us about what was done that day, what needed to be done and what the next step was going to be. The team that came in were always very professional, courteous and punctual. They definitely stand behind their work. We are a few months out from completion and I can still send them a message if something isn't working to spec or if there are adjustments needed. They respond right away and get someone out here as soon as they can to fix it without me having to constantly remind them. Amazing! We love our new kitchen and family room! I would recommend no one else but MSK if you're planning a project!! CURRENT UPDATE: We used them again this past year (2022) for a bathroom remodel, stairs and banister/railing project, putting hardwood into our upstairs area as well as transforming a formal living room and guest room into a new En Suite for visiting family members. They were just as good the second time as the first! I still highly recommend them!
